Brian has over 25 years of experience in the Mounted Police Service, both ridden and as an instructor, he is a fully qualified and insured riding instructor. He has also owned, trained and ridden Point to Point horses and steeple chasers and has an NVQ level 3 in racehorse management and care, including rehabilitating racehorses to riding horses.

Brian's inspiration to follow a career in, and become more involved with horses came from the late, great Dorothy Johnson FBHS. Dorothy needs little introduction, having trained some of the absolute best Equestrian Professionals in her career including the likes of Stephen Clarke, The Whittakers and Chris Bartle to name only a few.

 Following a meeting when Dorothy was asked to teach the mounted police officers in Liverpool, Brian spent the next 20 years training under Dorothy, and it was in fact Dorothy who encouraged him to train as an instructor, and recommended him for the post as Instructor in the mounted police.

With 15 years experience at Equine Solutions helping owners with horse related problems and boosting rider confidence and performance, especially in the starting and training of young horses, with which he has a particular talent, he is uniquely qualified to assess and advise. Through his talent and experience Brian is equipped to deal with practically any situation.

For the last 15 years Brian has also written a monthly article in the  Equine Trader Magazine, displaying a combination of his great experience and unique sense of humour and giving a different perspective to those issues which plague horse owners on a regular basis.
